Eyebrows are considered the hallmark of a person. That is why many girls resort to various makeup techniques in order to bring their face to a flawless look. The technique of permanent makeup is gaining more and more popularity due to its many advantages, but there are a number of contraindications for which the procedure is prohibited.
What is permanent makeup
Permanent makeup is one of the eyebrow tinting techniques using micropigmentation. This procedure bears a direct resemblance to tattooing. To give the eyebrows a new shape and color, a special composition is injected under the skin. The manipulation is carried out using a contour needle.
Depending on the density, real shape and desires, clients, in salon conditions, offer two options for the procedure:
- hairy;
- shading.
The hair technique is used when the eyebrows are not too thick and light in color. The desired shape and color is given by drawing hairs and contours in empty areas. Thus, the eyebrows are given not only shape, but also a thick look.
Tattooing in this technique has 2 subspecies:
- oriental (Chinese);
- European.
The first technique allows you to get the most natural eyebrows. The hairs in this case are drawn separately, changing direction and length. Drawing in the oriental technique is particularly difficult to perform, however, the result obtained justifies the efforts, the drawn eyebrow practically does not differ from the real one.
The technique of performing "European" make-up is to draw hairs in one direction, according to hair growth. The second technique is often performed in salons, since it is simpler and takes less time to complete.
To apply the "Chinese" technique, the specialist must have the skills of thorough drawing in order to obtain a high-quality result.
Shading (shooting) is used on very thin eyebrows or to correct the consequences of unsuccessful procedures. Leaving natural hairs, the specialist completes the necessary contour and fills in the gaps. The technique is widespread among girls, as it provides the result of regular makeup with shadows or pencil, without making the eyebrows unnatural.
Having done this procedure once, then it will be much easier to follow the eyebrows, since the finished shape allows correction only by removing excess hairs behind the contour. Permanent eyebrow makeup, contraindications to which are listed later in the article, has advantages over other tattoo techniques.

Why permanent eyebrow makeup has contraindications
Permanent make-up is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures, but despite the positive reviews, it has a number of relative and absolute contraindications.
Permanent eyebrow makeup (contraindications are considered by a specialist on an individual basis) involves the introduction of a special pigment under the skin, resulting in irritation of the skin. Before the procedure, you should consult with the master, as the body may react unexpectedly to micropigmentation.
Absolute contraindications for permanent tattooing
Permanent makeup has a number of contraindications, in the presence of which the procedure is completely prohibited:
- diabetes causes metabolism and vascular damage, as a result, many wounds heal for a long time. Due to a violation of the skin, the duration of recovery is significantly increased, and the risk of catching an infection also increases;
- blood clotting disorders. Often observed with: anemia, leukemia, leukemia, hemophilia. The presence of any blood disease leads to bleeding during the process of tattooing, which significantly complicates the procedure;
- oncology. In the presence of oncological formations, a person's immunity drops significantly, increasing the risk of developing infections;
- presence of moles on the eyebrows also prohibits tattooing;
- HIV, AIDS, hepatitis. These diseases are very dangerous, first of all, for the master who performs the procedure, as well as for the further healing process of the eyebrows. Due to weak immunity, there is a risk of inflammation and infection.
Relative contraindications for permanent makeup
Permanent eyebrow makeup, contraindications to which cannot be ignored, can cause complications.
Contraindications of a relative nature allow you to postpone the procedure for a certain period until the person's condition returns to normal.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
During this time, it is not advisable to do the procedure, since intervention in the female body can negatively affect the health of the mother and baby. Eyebrow dyeing is not an urgent procedure, therefore, the expectant mother should postpone the procedure until the child switches to a regular diet.
Period of menstruation
During critical days, the female body is most sensitive to external stimuli. In addition to sensitivity, there is a decreased blood clotting. The most optimal time for permanent makeup is the middle of the cycle.
Propensity for allergic reactions
In professional salons, hypoallergenic drugs are often used. But allergies can be caused by anesthetic drugs that are injected for pain relief.
Whether or not to use pain relief is the client's choice.
Before use, the master must conduct an allergy test and apply a small amount of the product to the girl's skin. After 20 minutes, you should look, if there is no reaction, then the drug can be used.
High blood pressure
Women with hypertension should be careful with this procedure, as tattooing can lead to a sharp jump in pressure. Such changes negatively affect health, therefore, before the procedure, the pressure should be returned to normal and pills should be taken.
Previously performed cosmetic procedures
At least 10 days should elapse between various cosmetic procedures and permanent make-up. The skin should not have unhealed wounds, cracks, inflammation.
Rehabilitation period after surgery or illness
If an operation has been performed in the eyebrow area, then you should consult a surgeon about the possibility of tattooing. Often, the permanent make-up procedure can be carried out no earlier than 6 months after the operation or the previous illness.
To restore immunity, a long period is required during which rehabilitation takes place. At this time, it is forbidden to prescribe a tattoo procedure.
Taking potent drugs
Tattooing is not combined with taking certain medications, for example, antibiotics, retinoids, certain vitamins and dietary supplements. The procedure after radiation or chemotherapy is prohibited.
Taking drugs or alcohol
The use of alcohol and drugs reduces the body's ability to recover, worsens skin regeneration... Harmful substances can lead to surges in blood pressure and increased bleeding during the procedure.
How is the recovery after tattooing
Permanent eyebrow makeup looks bright at first, so girls consider the result unnatural. This type is observed due to reddened and irritated skin, therefore it is contraindicated to touch the treated areas. After a day, the redness and puffiness subside, and the eyebrows take on a natural look.
During the first 3-4 days, liquid may ooze from the damaged skin, therefore, several times a day, the eyebrow should be treated with chlorhexidine.
After healing, a crust forms on the surface of the eyebrows and the makeup looks less saturated. The crusts must also be treated with chlorhexidine. If you are concerned about dry skin, it is allowed to lubricate eyebrows with Bepanten cream several times a day. During the recovery period, the main thing is to maintain the integrity of the crusts.
They perform a protective function, prevent the development of inflammation and improve the healing of the permanent. On average, the crusts last from 5 to 7 days. They should not be touched with hands, painted with decorative agents and moistened with water.
Rules for the care of permanent eyebrow makeup
In order to accelerate tissue healing, you must adhere to the following rules:
- The first days of the eyebrows are abundantly smeared with ointment. Usually, Panthenol-based products are used. Eyebrows should be washed with soap and water three times a day in order to remove secreted lymph.
- With the appearance of crusts, they continue to be smeared with healing ointments, but you cannot wet them with water. After some time, the crusts fall off by themselves.
- It is not advisable to apply decorative cosmetics to the face before healing, as cream or powder can get on the damaged area.
- It is advisable to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, otherwise use sunscreen.
How long the makeup on the eyebrows will last depends on proper care. As a result of successful healing and a good hand of the master, the eyebrows can last from six months to several years.
Possible complications
After completing the procedure, the following reactions may appear:
- swelling;
- dry skin, itching;
- poorly healing crusts;
- bruises, ruptured blood vessels.
Since the procedure for permanent makeup is similar to a tattoo, the skin must be carefully monitored for the first few weeks.Taking care of injured skin will help to quickly restore the upper layers of the epidermis and ensure the long life of your makeup.
Permanent eyebrow makeup is performed in many salons, as the procedure is considered in demand.
You should go for a tattoo after studying the contraindications and finding a qualified master. It must be remembered that working with a needle means using only sterile and new instruments.
